Faaborg-Midtfyn is the geographically largest municipality on Funen, with 52,284 residents (2025) – and there is plenty of room for you too!
The two largest towns are Faaborg in the south and Ringe, which is located in the middle of the municipality. To the north, we have the suburban belt bordering Odense, with towns such as Årslev and Nr. Lyndelse. Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality has invested particularly in the development of these four towns, and a lot is happening here.
But throughout the entire municipality, you will find charming towns with job opportunities, shopping, schools, daycare centers, and associations.
We are especially known for our beautiful nature shaped by the Ice Age, and we are very proud to be a UNESCO Global Geopark – The South Funen Archipelago. Here you’ll find rural idyll, forests, hills, and a vibrant archipelago. In other words, you can live surrounded by unique nature and enjoy all its opportunities for outdoor activities and sports.
Another thing we are very proud of in Faaborg-Midtfyn is our many associations and volunteers. This means that we have a wide range of great leisure activities and communities – and there is certainly something for you as well. These communities mean a lot to us and always have. That is why you can find some of the country’s first friskoler (independent schools) and højskoler (folk high schools) in this area.
